Abstract

|
Multicystic dysplastic kidney (renal dysplasia) results from aberrant histogenesis in the developing kidney and represents a spectrum of pathologic status, from unilateral multicystic kidney through segmental and focal multicystic dysplasia to
bilateral
multicystic kidney. The sonographic picture is variable. Anhydroamnios also is the primary symptom in case of bilateral involvement. We report a case of congenital bilateral multicystic dysplastic kidney, diagnosed in utero by ultrasonography, in
a
baby
born at 33 weeks of gestational age with combined multiple anomalies. The final diagnosis is based on autopsy.
